Dogs must have current rabies, DHLPP and Bordetella vaccinations. Written proof of vaccinations is required.Ĭats must have current rabies and FVRCP vaccinations. If the animal needs to be medicated there is additional charge. The Quincy Humane Society is a privately funded, limited admission, no-kill animal shelter. Founded in 1880, we are one of the oldest continually operating humane organizations in the United States. We rely solely on grants, private donations, and fundraisers in order to offer our services at a low cost. 100 volunteer-run organization established. The City of Quincy Animal Shelter is now located at 3910 Wisman Ln. Our capacity at the Shelter is limited to a maximum of 12 dogs and 15 to 25 cats, depending on ages and condition of the cats. The sheltering services are contracted with the Western Illinois Veterinary Clinic. We have a very simple adoption contract that can be filled out at the time of adoption. Our dream is to eventually find a larger facility so that we can continue our mission on a larger scale and serve the continuous needs of the community and the animals. All animals will be current on vaccinations except Rabies, theyll be dewormed, and spayed or neutered ( if not spaed or neutered they will come with a certificate valued. The Release Date is the date the dog is available for Adoption, Rescue or Transfer.
